Dierenartsenpraktijk De Linde, which could be translated as The Linden Veterinary Surgery, is the brainchild of Griet Vanwing, DVM and Philip Martens, DVM. Both Griet and Philip are qualified veterinary surgeons with a passion for animals and animal welfare. Having spent almost 15 years in veterinary practice in the United Kingdom, it will come as no surprise that the ideology behind their practice as well as their approach to veterinary medicine are based upon the values and the experiences they encountered during their time as practising veterinary surgeons in the United Kingdom.

The name of the surgery refers to the linden tree, which used to be the seat of the local court in medieval times. Together with the Chapel of Saint-Gerard Majella and the windmill, which used to be located just accross the road, the linden tree has played a major part in the history of Berbroek.
